I decided to duck out of the freezing weather back home in the UK for a bit, and headed to my favourite sunny place, Orlando Florida.  Ive been here for about 3 weeks so far, living the boat life and riding every day  Its been a sweet trip so far but its not over yet

If you’re friends with me on Facebook, or follow my Twitter, I’m sure you will have seen me going on and on about my latest venture into TV, ha!  As I explained in my last post, last week I featured on Sky 1′s Gadget Geeks.. the show was actually pretty good and turned out way less cheesy than I expected.  If you’re like me and couldn’t get to your TV to watch it last monday, the check out this video I found online which shows what went down… ENJOY!

So it seems that next week I’ll be getting my 5 minutes of fame, as I’ll be featuring in new Sky 1 series ‘Gadget Geeks’.

I was approached a few months ago and asked to feature in this new show; I was told they were creating something that would revolutionise wakeboarding and would I be interested in taking part..?

HOW COULD I RESIST??

So this was pretty much all I was told, until I got into the studio for the first part of the filming.  I was gobsmacked when I found out what they were inventing for me, and super excited to try it out on the water..  I’m not telling you any more, but you can see what happened if you tune in to SKY 1, on this coming MONDAY 23rd JANUARY at 8pm.  I have no idea how its going to come out, however I have an idea that it’s going to be very cheesy, ha!

WORD UP!

SOOO last week I picked up my new 2012 Hyperlite Syn setup, and let me tell you.. I LOVE IT!

Pretty similar to last year, this board is specially designed to be the best choice for a lady rider.  The Syn carries great speed into the wake, and the variable edge design means it’s super quick and responsive.  I love the small moulded fins, and find it great for riding on both boat and the cable; its just enough fin to know it’s there but not too much to get in the way of a good release.

The Hyperlite Syn boot is once again super stylish, and of course specially designed to fit a ladies foot perfectly.  These boots have always been super comfy, yet hold you in firmly so you know you are safe.  With Hyperlites innovative Lo Pro plate system, you are also super close to the board, giving you maximum control.

All in all I LOVE my new setup, and can’t wait to get out there and ride it!  Ladies, if you are looking for a new setup this year, take my advice and give the Syn a go

A few weeks ago, the WakeGirls went on another SICK trip to the Animal Flowrider in Bedford.  Its fair to say we all had a great time, with plenty of laughs.  Without waffling on too much, check out this sick video of our trip!

Thought I would post a pic of my christmas tree, just to make this seem a little festive.  Along with the snow falling over my page, ha!   Truth is I didn’t really  do any of the decorating, I think I was hungover that day and pretty much just watched and laughed as my step mum did it all by herself.  Oh the magic of christmas

Apologies as usual that I’ve not blogged in a while.  I’m useless, but you must know this by now.  :)

So, whats been happening?  Everyone set for the big day? If its any consolation, I am NOT! Ha..  I love shopping, I love buying gifts, but boy do I hate wrapping them.  Sigh.

Well, keeping this short but sweet as believe it or not I am actually going wakeboarding today (burr) I just wanted to drop in to say HAYYYY and wish all my avid readers (cough cough) a very merry christmas and a big thanks for reading over another wonderful year..

Apart from being super cheesy, I have been up to some exciting stuff lately…

A few weeks ago I went to go see the one and only Ben Howard.  OH MY GOSH he was incredible.  Words can’t actually describe how awesome he was.  Not only does this guy have an amazing voice but he’s a super talented guitar player who really knows how to work a crowd.  Every song had such passion, and it was clear that he was having such a good time and lapping up every moment on stage.

I was also pretty stoked with the support act, a sick band called ‘Brother and Bones’.  I’d never heard of these guys, but since seeing them that night have been jamming to them ever since.

I’m posting a video of my favourite of their songs, ‘Don’t forget to pray’  - I’m no music critic but I just really love this song.  its is super catchy lyrics and awesome guitar part at the beginning have had me playing it on repeat for days!

The day after the amazing concert, I headed into Cambridge with my good friend and awesome tour guide Abbie Jones.  We did a nice bit of shopping and she showed me around the beautiful city.  Maybe I’ve lived a sheltered life but I’d never been to Cambridge before, and was super impressed.  I loved all the little cobbled streets and old fashioned buildings, this place below was like a scene out of Harry Potter! well kinda..

All in all that was a great trip and Cambridge was rad.  If you’ve not been there before I would recommend it.  I’m keen for a trip in the summer for sure.

Well I best be getting on, but watch this space as there is more to come from me before the year is out.  Steph’s working on a new video from the ‘Wake Girls Go.. Flowriding’ trip, and I just know its going to be hilarious.

The movie was sick.   As you can see from the trailer, the movie is about big wave surfer Mark Matthews and his best buddy, MMA fighter Richie Vaculik.  These guys have grown up together, been through some serious shit together, and together show an truly inspring ‘never give up’ attitude which has led them both to be super sucessful.  As well as having a truly engaging story, there was some seriously awesome surfing in there too.  My surf knowledge is pretty basic, but these guys were ripping up some pretty huge waves.  Everyone left the cinema stoked, and I think its fair to say we all had a pretty fun night at the after party as well!

“What do you want for christmas?”     ”What do you want for christmas?”           AAARRRGGGHHH !!

So what does anyone really want for christmas?  I personally find it a really hard question to answer.  I don’t want to sound like a spoilt brat, but i’m generally pretty happy with my lot.  Ok, so I’d like a new snowboard and heck I’d love a new automobile, but generally my old banger gets me around just fine, and I need to learn to snowboard properly before I should worry about boards.

Well anyway, the point i’m making… no one ever likes to say what they REALLY want for christmas, as they dont want to sound demanding or cocky or whatever, but I thought id have a go at writing my own christmas list…things I’d really want if money was no object and anything was possible..

1. A private jet I could hop on any time to go visit the people and places I love.

2. A personal therapist to tag along with me 24/7.  Slightly vague – perhaps she could double up as a stylist, hairdresser, masseuse , and personal trainer.  In fact my mother would fit the bill and would probably be alright for the job.

3. A big blue house with a veranda all around it.  Like the one from ‘The Notebook’, identical in fact.

4. Man of my dreams.  Handsome, wealthy, funny, charming, and all the rest….

5.  Endless funds to my PayPal account.  Or my bank account.  Either is fine.

6. A green card to the USA! Let me in!!

7. An IPhone 4GS, or whatever it’s called.  With an unlimited contract and insurance and all the extra bits and pieces…

8. A little reset on my brain so that I can read all the Harry Potter books again for the first time.  Wow that sounds geeky.. (no shame).

9.  A van, brand new, pimped out in the back with a place for my boards, clothes and of course a place to sleep.  I’m not sure of which exact one I want, but I’m sure my Dad could help with that.

10. Health and happiness for all my friends and family.  Had to get that in there before I start to sound really selfish and materialistic!

Well, if you were struggling with what to get me, hopefully that should give you some ideas!
